Painting Mishap

I have been trying for several months to get our front door painted. After many circumstances preventing me from doing so, I was finally able to do this weekend. (It was very important to me to have it done before Easter.) I have gotten everything together, and I'm just minding my own business priming the door when the unthinkable happens! No, I didn't knock over the paint can! It was much worse... I dropped the paint can! Big oops and mess. It was just my luck thyat I had the door open to the inside of the house so I could have easy access too the edges of the door. What do you know, the paint could spill, it had to splatter! Yep you guessed it; all over the door, all over me, all over our nicely done hardwood floors, and allow over my red walls. Disaster! I immediately call for Allen, and needless to say he is speechless. We quickly get up what we can before the paint dries, and spend the next 30 minutes scrubbing with Lysol wipes to get the rest up. (Lysol wipes aren't just for cleaning.) There are three important lessons I learner from this mess: 1) Don't ever hold the paint can/ cup. No matter how careful you are, you are bound to spill it. 2) Make sure you have a patient and forgiving husband to help clean up the mess. 3) Allen will never let me live this mistake down. All in all, the door is now painted and looks great. Also I am not a painter, but I do know how to get up the mess of spilled paint.
